Guidance is often limited to “follow last year’s files” or “just do the vouching,” leaving them with little clarity on what internal audit really means beyond checking vouchers and ticking boxes.

Amit Salla and Zehra Maccawala have seen this struggle up close. As professionals and trainers, they have met talented young auditors who lacked the confidence to ask the right questions or apply frameworks like COSO effectively.
